Your relationship with Power Academy doesn’t end upon completing your personal trainer qualifications. We support our graduates every step of the way in finding a job that’s suitable.

Our careers team will assist you with CV writing and 1-1 prep for interviews to find a job that suits your skill level. We also give you marketing resources and business start-up training to equip you for ongoing success.

You can either be a self-employed personal trainer or employed by a gym. You can also go on to expand your knowledge even further by completing a Level 4 course or additional Continued Professional Development (CPD) topics in areas such as Lower Back Pain Management, Meal Planning and Obesity and Diabetes. By doing these courses you set yourself apart from other fitness instructors who just hold a Level 3 personal training diploma.

As a self-employed trainer, you will have a lot more freedom on how you want to do things, such as how you want to manage your clients and how you want to brand and promote yourself. As an employed trainer, although you may have less free reign, you will have stability with your salary and it will be easier to start getting clients. Both are respectable routes to go down, it just depends which would work better for you. Another option would be to start working at a gym, build a reputation and name for yourself, maintain a good number of clients and then branch out to become self-employed.

Power Academy guarantee post-course interviews with leading gyms, securing your dream personal trainer job.
